Kapil is a growth equity investor at FTV Capital where he leads minority and control investments in enterprise technology and services. Kapil has invested in 10 companies that have been acquired and four companies that have gone public, and he was recognized on GrowthCap’s Top Investors List in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019.

Prior to joining FTV, Kapil was a general partner at TCV, where he partnered with entrepreneurs across the B2B landscape. He has particular interest in IT security, data analytics, and front-office and vertical market technologies. Prior to TCV, Kapil spent several years as an investment banker and technologist at Goldman Sachs.

At TCV Kapil led, co-led or actively participated in investments including Alarm.com (NASDAQ: ALRM), Attentive, ETQ (acquired by Hexagon AB), ExactTarget (NYSE: ET, acquired by SalesForce), Genesys, IQMS (acquired by Dassault Systems), OSIsoft, Rapid7 (NASDAQ: RPD), Rave Mobile Safety, Seismic Microtechnology (acquired by IHS), Splunk (NASDAQ: SPLK) and TOA Technologies (acquired by Oracle).

Interests

Kapil’s journey to finding his ultimate passion in tech investing included many pit stops — he explored being a commercial pilot and a chef. He has lived in Singapore, India and Tanzania and looks for every opportunity to travel with family. He enjoys watching Bollywood movies, is an amateur photographer and still hopes to get his pilot’s license.

The global tech landscape has never been more dynamic. We live in a world where true vision and operational excellence can take businesses to unimagined heights. Spreadsheets don’t run businesses, people do. I get to share ideas, collaborate and constantly learn from exceptional founders and management teams – what a privilege to be a growth equity investor.
